This past weekend we went camping up past Idaho City, to Hayfork again. This time with some of our friends. It was so much fun and a much needed getaway, the last before we have this baby in 3 weeks!

We headed up by ourselves Thursday after work and the Hurst and Prices came up Friday afternoon. We had so much fun relaxing, walking, eating, playing, talking, and more eating. Oh and trying our darndest to keep the kids clean, which, seriously, what were we thinking?
Lucy 10 minutes after we got to the campsite Thursday night. She was seriously a dirt magnet the whole weekend.

Thursday night/Friday morning was pretty chilly, but I found it quite refreshing.

Brushing our teeth at the pump. Pretty sure I brushed my teeth there when I was 3 too.

Johnny's going to run out of lap room soon.

I think she's cute.

Camping at 36 weeks preggo. Why not?

Ben, Claire, Lucy, and Jenna enjoying the freezing creek.

Both girls LOVED sleeping in the tent.

Breakfast!

Hiking up the Bad Bear road. Hot, but fun.

There's that dirty face again

Perry's sweet set-up

The Price girls

Playing in and adventuring up and down the creek was definitely a favorite. Nice photo bomb P.
Friends. 1 large, 2 small.

That last picture deserves an explanation. you can't really tell, but Lucy is enjoying a roasted marshmallow. The last night all the kids were in bed except Lucy and we were snuggling by the fire for a bit. Then we took her into the tent to go to bed. While Johnny was saying prayers, Lucy all of the sudden burst into tears with her face in both her hands. Johnny quickly finished and we asked her what was wrong. She looked up with big tears and said " we never roasted marshmallows! sob, sob, sob." Johnny and I looked at each other, laughed, and got her shoes back on and let her roast a few marshmallows. After that she went right in the tent and to sleep, no problems. It was seriously hilarious how distraught she was about it, but really, what were we thinking? 3 nights, no mallows? I chalk it up to having so much fun during the day we all just collapsed each night.

Despite the lack of mallows, this was a serious blast. Hoping to make this a camping tradition with our awesome friends!

Jellycat (the only cats we'll EVER own)

We love Jellycat stuffed animals. They are sooooo cute! Their bashful collection is our favorite but all their stuff is cute. It all started when Lucy was born and a friend from Johnny's work bought her the Jellycat monkey.

Lucy became attached to it when she was still a baby. We loved it because it was soft and cute.   Well her monkey (who has remained simply "monkey") has been her sleeping companion ever since. She used to take him everywhere with her, but now she just sleeps with him. It was nice to have something else to continue comforting her when we took the binky away at age 2.
Lucy was 2 here. This is right after a nap I'm sure. Monkey is even more beat up looking now. But we love him!
So when I was pregnant with Jenna we decided we'd get her a Jellycat animal and make it kind of a tradition in our family. We chose this squishy little piggy for her.

Jenna loves her piggy too, he's been there through the bad and the good. (Oddly enough, they've always been "he's".

With girl number 3 just a month from joining the ranks we decided we needed to pick her out an animal. This is the one we landed on:

The purple hippo. I think he's so cute. So, I guess if we don't have a name for this baby it's ok, because we've at least got her a Jellycat all ready and waiting!

Staying Cool

We've had WAY too many days over a hundred here in good old Boise and frankly, being as pregnant as I am (5 weeks left!!!), you'll either find me in the AC or in a pool. The girls are reaping the benefits. We got A Boise city pool pass and have spent many days there.
Also, my grandma Spjute got an awesome HUGE pool from her son who decided not to set it up at his place. So now we are all reaping the benefits of that. And we've gone many times. My uncle built an awesome deck with stairs and my dad helped put in a railing on it this last weekend.  Lucy and Jenna love that pool and since Lucy finished swim lessons last week, she loves cannon-balling off and swimming to the ladder all by herself.  (She's wearing her Puddle Jumper in these pics, but when we went again Saturday she was swimming all over with no floaties.) SO fun.
It only took her one lesson to perfect the cannon ball.

My dad, Lucy and Emmy jumping off "at the same time". Sorta.

Quick trip to the desert

I just got back last night from a quick over-night trip with my parent's to our good friend Natalie Simmon's wedding in Mesa, AZ. We got in Wednesday night at 11:00 and it had cooled down to 97 degrees from the high of 117 that day. Thank goodness for AC!
The Mesa temple is really pretty. The grounds are HUGE with palm trees and cactus everywhere.

Natalie looked gorgeous! I'm so happy for her. Greg seems like such an awesome guy.

Summer is here!

Summer is full swing and we've been busy having fun! We've spent a good amount of time swimming already and with the temperatures in the hundreds for the next week, it looks like thats where we'll be.
Lucy passed out in the car after a particularly hot day at the pool.

These next few are form Eagle island, which is a place I'd never been to until last year! It's so fun, the kids really love it. And since its a state park you just pay $5 per car. Sweet!

Ivy Wild pool is another place we frequent, this year we got a family swim pass to all Boise pools (to keep this pregnant girl cool). We're loving it so far.

I did a 5k in support of my good friend Natalie, whose husband and baby were killed by a drunk driver 10 years ago. It felt good to be there supporting her and I ended up winning a drawing for $50 to a high end baby boutique downtown. Score!

The girls got excited for Father's day this year and helped me make him breakfast early that morning before church.

We're so lucky to have such a good daddy.

Lucy had a sleepover at grandpa and grandma Spjute's with all her cousins. They had a great time, as always.
The next day we went to Dairy Days, which is a little carnival held annually in Meridian. We went with our good friends the Price's.

Ok, this rollercoaster. It's quite small, but really bumpy, and jerky and loud. Lucy and Ben insisted on going on it by themselves. As soon as it yanked them up the first little hill and around the first corner, we could see their horrified faces. Kim and I were dying! What had we done?! Lucy's head was plastered up against and bumping the side of the roller coaster the whole time. Ben had alook of terror on his face, and I swear that roller coaster went on forever!
Here's the best part: the rollercoaster comes screeching to a jerky stop and Kim and I run over to survey the damage. Ben is shaking his said saying it was awful, while (much to my surprise and relief) Lucy raises a triumphant fist in the air and yells, "I loved it!". I kept laughing about that for days.

I was so mad they wouldn't let me on the farris wheel because I was pregnant. Lame.

Jenna would've stayed on the merry-go-round for days if we'd let her. She cried both times after she got off.

And here's the latest progress on girlie #3. I'm 31.5 weeks, so just 2 hot months left! I really can't complain, I feel good and I enjoy being pregnant. Now, what in the world are we going to name her??
